I would like to make one correction.
Sardar mentioned (likely as an honest mistake) that birthright citizenship was abolished, then later reinstated. However, that is not what happened.
Birthright citizenship was never abolished. The executive order sought to reinterpret the 14th Amendment and restrict birthright citizenship for certain children born in the United States. Before it could take effect, multiple federal courts issued preliminary injunctions blocking its enforcement. On June 30, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the executive order violated the 14th Amendment and struck it down. As a result, birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment remained in effect throughout the entire legal process and was never suspended or abolished.
