यूनानी दार्शनिक प्लूटार्क ने "थीसियस के जहाज़" की पहेली दर्ज की है। दार्शनिक दो हज़ार साल से इस पर बहस कर रहे हैं कि-"धीरे-धीरे किसी जहाज़ का हर पुराना तख़्ता बदल दिया जाए तो क्या ये वही जहाज़ रहेगा?"
दार्शनिक कार्ल पॉपर ने दूसरे विश्वयुद्ध में इसी को "सहिष्णुता का विरोधाभास" कहा था-"सहिष्णुता अगर हर हद पार कर जाए, तो एक दिन ख़ुद सहिष्णुता को निगल लेती है।"

The concept of non-violence is not limited to not physically harming another person or living being. Non-violence is an attempt to reduce harm in thought, speech and behavior. In the digital world, posting that hurts the dignity of another person, causes mental pain, committing cyber fraud or using social media to spread unrest and poison in the society is also new-age non-violence.
